Shanga Parker

Shanga Parker has worked professionally in theatre, television and film.  He performed Gravity at the Connelly Theatre in New York. He has been seen at Regional Theatres: A Contemporary Theatre in Wine in the Wilderness, Intiman Theatre in Homebody, Kabul and Raisin in the Sun, the Tacoma Actor’s Guild in Pantomime. Also at On The Boards in an original work called Prix Fixe, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville where he performed in Romeo and Juliet and A Christmas Carol, the La Jolla Playhouse in Twelfth Night, at the San Diego Repertory in Fences and Thin Air, and at the South Coast Repertory in another production of Twelfth Night. At Rites and Reason Theatre in Providence, RI, he wrote and acted in Langston, No Regrets, about Langston Hughes. He has also played Hamlet at the University of Washington’s Summer Arts Festival.  Also at the University of Washington, he was seen in the first production of Gravity and All Powers Necessary and Convenient. Internationally, he performed at the Festivalul International du Teatru de la Sibiu, Romania.  His television credits include, All My Children, Flying Blind, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Family Matters, Brooklyn Bridge, and a recurring role on Married...With Children. He was in the film The Obama Effect. He is an Associate Professor in the School of Drama at the University of Washington
