Internships and Work Exchange

Freehold has internships available in several areas. Internships last one quarter, with a typical schedule of 4 hours per week during office hours (10:00am-6:00pm Monday - Thursday).  All interns are offered tuition remission for one class per quarter minus a required deposit for the class.  To apply for an internship, please contact us with the appropriate category and your cover letter and resume included in the body of the email. 

  • Facilities/ Organization:  Applicants should have experience in cleaning and organization and ability to commit to a consistent schedule of several hours per week. Interns will be responsible for supporting janitorial staff with cleaning and organization of studio spaces and storage facilities. Interns may also assist Freehold's Venue Manager with organization of storage spaces. Preference will be given to applicants with a car. 

  • Administration:  Applicants must be comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office as well as with filing and mailing. Tasks include flyer distribution, data entry, assistance with events, and other related tasks during office hours.  

  • Marketing: This position primarily consists of posting promotional content around Seattle and online and assisting the Marketing Associate with other marketing tasks.  Preference will be given to applicants with a car and to those who could commit to the internship for three consecutive quarters.  

  • Stage Manager for Rehearsal and Performance - Summer 2018: Assist instructor/ director Darragh Kennan in organizing rehearsal schedules, notating blocking, timing rehearsals, backstage manager during performances, and provide support for other tasks and needs for the Rehearsal and Performance class as they arise.  Intern must be able to attend all class sessions and performances of the Summer 2015 Rehearsal and Performance class.  Tuition credit may be applied to eligible classes in the Fall 2018, Winter 2019, Spring 2019, or Summer 2019 quarters. 

Upcoming Opportunities

  • Auction: Applicants must be detail-oriented, have experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and internet research, and be comfortable speaking with potential donors over the phone or in person.  Tasks include data entry for our annual fundraiser, procuring items and services from donors during office hours, and creating and proofing copy for the event itself.  Preference will be given to applicants who can make the time commitment to intern from fall through the spring quarter.
