Slow Tempo, Mar 2 - Mar 3 with Michael Place

Sat & Sun 3:30 - 6:30PM (6hrs)

Shogo Ohta, Japanese director, playwright and master teacher, spent over twenty years exploring gesture and the actor’s movement in three-dimensional, modern, urban space. His training and performance aesthetic evolved into an acute, nearly microscopic look at the human condition, expressed entirely in slow tempo and in silence. His practice challenges the actor to explore each moment without adornment, while increasing stamina, strength, concentration, breath control, focus, honesty and clarity. Slow Tempo is a practice in hyper slow motion realism.
