Digging into Shakespeare, May 25 - May 26 with Hal Ryder

May 25-26 // Sat & Sun 12:00PM-4:00PM
This intensive eight hour workshop will take actors into the depth of Shakespeare’s text. There will be a deep analysis of text and its ‘buried clues’ that will enlighten acting and movement. Participants will do multiple cold readings and examine short dialogue scenes.

The workshop will include hands-on experiences in an intense, fun and safe atmosphere. Informational hand-outs will be provided, however note taking will also be encouraged.  Actors should bring comfortable clothes to move in, and remove jewelry and tie long hair up and out of their faces. Participants should warm up their voices prior to the workshop. Bottled water and light snacks will be provided.
Hal Ryder has been teaching actors how to handle Shakespearean Text for over 35 years. He trained at the University of Arizona, University of Washington and Drama Studio London as well as a number of freelance workshops. He has directed, acted in, and produced over 300 productions. He was a Professor of Theater for 33 years at Cornish College of the Arts.
