An intensive exploration of comedy in scenes from a wide range of historical and contemporary dramatic writing , our Advanced Comic Scene Study course allows actors a thorough immersion into elements of comedy, verbal comic techniques, character, action objectives, obstacles and resolutions. This 10-week course will challenge actors to 'be precise,' discover different approaches to a script, and find ways to play clearly and honestly within roles. Assigned scenes are tailored to for the best learning situation and each actor is given an abundance of hands-on coaching. Come prepared to the first session with a joke to tell. There will be several mini pieces to work on and final scene work is presented with a public performance at week 10.
 
Prerequisites: Step III or permission of the Instructor.

Deadline to register for this class is Wednesday, Oct 9 at 5:00pm, pending available space.  Class size is limited to 12 students.
