Directing and Acting for the Camera - Directors, Jan 16 - Apr 17 with John Jacobsen

Jan 16 - April 17 // Wed 6:00-10:00PM

DIRECTORS are taken through the fundamentals of directing from working with text, to rehearsing with actors, to planning the shoot, to shooting, and through editing. With over 52 hours of class and seminar, Directors begin by analyzing text to identify events to visualize a story. The directors then move into working with actors to identify and physicalize subtext, adding depth and impact to performances. One of the unique aspects of this course is that the material is rehearsed, shot and edited as many as three times on our quest to learn and get the best five minute film we can. A final public screening at a local theater gives everyone a chance to celebrate their work on the big screen.
